Manipur government allows opening workshops, spare part shops for heavy vehicles

Manipur government on Wednesday announced three additional permitted activities which include, among others, opening of selected workshops during the curfew to curb spread of COVID-19.

Workshops of goods trucks, petrol tankers, LPG bullet tankers within Imphal Municipal area are allowed to open daily from 9 am till 3pm as Manipur government gave relaxation to some more activities during the curfew hours.

These workshops are allowed to open by taking adequate protection and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour, said an order of the state home department issued on Wednesday.

While allowing opening this selected workshop, the state home department relaxes the opening of shops dealing with spare parts.

The order stated that authorised dealers of spare parts for heavy vehicles including tyres and batteries and spare parts shops will be allowed to open from 10 am till 2 pm on all days except Sunday.

For the spare parts shops, one each out of three shops, three tyre shops and three battery shops of heavy vehicles in Thangal Bazar The DC and SP of Imphal West district will prepare the roster for opening the shops.

The home department has also allowed opening of insurance offices with limited staff from 10am to 2pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

The insurance offices that are allowed to open are United India Insurance Co Ltd at Thangal Bazar, National Insurance Company Ltd at Thangal Bazar, the New India Insurance Company Ltd at Chingmeirong Nepali Basti, The Oriental India Insurance Company Ltd at Thangal Bazar.
