Manipur government orders new COVID-19 guidelines, effective April month

Manipur government has announced new Covid Appropriate Behaviour and Standard Operating Procedures which will be effective during April month.

Manipur chief secretary, Dr Rajesh Kumar, who is also the chairperson of State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority, issued an order in this regard on Wednesday. The new Covid Appropriate Behaviour and SOP will be effective from April 1 to April 30, 2021.

As per the new SOPs, all persons who come out in public places should wear masks without fail. The size of family gatherings for social, religious and customary ceremonies should be restricted to 50 or less number of persons strictly. Size of the gathering for religious, sports, entertainment and cultural should be restricted to 100 or less number of persons strictly, the order stated.

The order then warned that any person violating these guidelines will be liable to be proceeded against as per the provisions of section 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under section 188 of the IPC.
