Manipur govt declares holidays for all schools till May 31

Imphal:  The Education department of Manipur government has ordered closure of all schools which are not yet under summer vacation till May 31.

The step was taken up in view of the widespread destruction and inconveniences caused to many households and installations across the state due to incessant rain and floods that followed and anticipation of the same in the following days, the order issued by director of Education (School) L Nandakumar Singh stated.

The order stated that keeping in mind the safety of the students and teachers, all schools of the state –government, government aided, private and Central schools, which are not yet under summer vacation, will stay closed on May 29, May 30 and May 31.

During this period, all activities at the schools, including the admission process should not be taken up, the order added.

In the order, the Education director also instructed all zonal education officers/DI of schools under the department of Education-schools, Manipur, to inform all concerned under their respective jurisdictions and take up necessary actions accordingly.
