Manipur: Fresh Gunfight Erupts in Tamenglong

TAMENGLONG: Fresh gunfight was reported from New Kaiphundai village in Tousem subdivision, under Tousem Police Station in Tamenglong district, Manipur, along NH-37 on Friday morning around 8.30 am.

Sources said the gunfire, allegedly between ZUF and NSCN (IM) factions, lasted for hours. No casualty or injury has been reported yet. However, the incident has created fear and panic among the villagers. In several videos shared on various social media platforms, the villagers were seen fleeing to safer areas. 

Meanwhile, a bunker and a camp at Kaiphundai village, allegedly belonging to NSCN (IM), have been reportedly captured by the ZUF.
