Manipur has now only 85 active cases of COVID-19. Among them, 10 are CAPF personnel.
This encouraging trend came amid the Manipur’s COVID-19 recovery rate further improved to 98.42% as 18 patients were discharged after recovery against four new positive cases reported in the past 24 hours (till 5pm of February 8).
With no COVID-19 related death reported in the last 24 hours, the fatality tally remains at 373.
As per the daily status update report of the state Health department, a total of 626 samples were tested in the past 24 hours and among them four were diagnosed with the viral disease. The state has so far tested 5,25,613 samples. The four new cases were one each from Imphal East, Kakching, Senapati and Tamenglong districts. With the four new cases, the state’s infection tally rose to 29,130, out of which 3429 were CAPF personnel.
As 18 more patients were discharged today after they recovered from the viral infection, the recovery tally of the state rose to 28,672, out of which 3,415 were CAPF personnel.
Hence, the active case declined to 85 only. Among them 10 were CAPF personnel. The recovery rate of the state stood at 98.42%.
On the other hand, 1612 people were vaccinated on Monday, taking the total number of people so far vaccinated to 9,946.
Till date, the total number of healthcare workers vaccinated was 9,570. The vaccinated healthcare workers included directors of RIMS, JNIMS, chief medical officers, DFWOS, DIOs of the districts, the chairman cum managing directors of Shija hospital and Babina Diagnostic Centre.
There are no severe reactions or allergies, adverse events following immunisation till date. There were 37 mild reactions who were at home and all of them were now fully recovered, the health department said.
