Manipur implements 7th UGC pay, online classes resumes

Federation of Government College Teachers’ Association (FEGOCTA) after several months of class boycotts, strikes and deadlines, following the implementation of long-standing demand of 7th Pay for college teachers of Manipur on Saturday have resumed online classes.

FEGOCTA informed that teachers in Government colleges including those in Dhanamanjuri University have resumed online classes and examination activities from Sunday.

The association in a statement stated that the decision to suspend its agitation was taken on Friday in a virtual meeting, in addition, full implementation of UGC Regulations 2018 should start with the direct recruitment of Assistant Professors through MPSC.

FEGOCTA furthermore thanked the State Government, authorities concerned, individuals and stakeholders who supported them in the demand for 7th Pay.
