Manipur reports 813 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday

Manipur’s COVID-19 infection tally crossed 47,000-mark after the state recorded 813 fresh cases of the disease in the past 24 hours. The state also reported 18 more patients expired due to COVID-19 related complications in the same period. With this update, tManipur’s COVID-19 related death cases have reached 748, according to the Health department.

The Health department said 813 persons including a CAPF personnel were confirmed as new COVID-19 cases as results of 4,298 samples received till 5pm of Thursday.

This daily spike took the overall infection tally of the state to 47,111. The recovery tally also rose to 38,901 with the discharge of 576 today with 82.57% recovery rate.

The state has currently 7,462 active cases which included 96 CAPF personnel.

As per a release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, of the 812 fresh infections reported among the general population, 300 were from Imphal West district, 168 from Imphal East and 109 from Churachandpur district.

Even though Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching and Senapati districts reported higher number of fresh infections with 33, 53, 57 and 24 respectively, other districts have less number compared to these districts.

Of the 18 fresh deaths reported in the last 24 hours, five each were from Imphal East and Kakching districts, four from Imphal West, two in Churachandpur and one each in Kamjong and Tamenglong districts.
