Imphal: The ongoing State Level Boxing Championship for final line up of master and sub-junior categories is completed.
The boxing championship is held for mini boys and girls, sub-junior boys and girls, youth men and women and elite men and women.

According to The Sangai Express, the master 34 Kg semi final bout, Meisnam Renson Singh of Kackching beat Chingakham Reynil Singh of Imphal East while Usham Thouna Luwnag of Imphal East advanced to the final by beating Sanasam Sumanjit Singh of Bishnupur in the master 36 Kg event. In master 36 Kg semi-final match, V Wungchiphei Zimik of Ukhrul overwhelmed Mayoisana Sapam of Imphal West.

Other pugilists who have advanced to the final in different weight categories are Wangkheirakpam Mahesh Meitei of Imphal West (master 38 Kg), Khaidem Rudraksh Singh of Kakching (master 38 Kg), Khaidem Rudraksh Shing of Kakching (master 40 Kg), Yangambam Srinivash Singh of Thoubal (master 40 Kg), Thongam Jackson of Imphal West (master 42 Kg), Moibungkhongbam Lanchenba Singh of Kakching (master 44+ Kg), Laishangbam Uningba Khuman of Imphal West (sub-junior) 40 Kg), Amaraj Wahnegba of Bisnhnupur (sub-junior 43 Kg) and Wangthoi Chirom of Imphal West (sub juniour 43 Kg), The Sangai Express reported.

The opening ceremony of State Level Boxing Championship which commenced from November 23 at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena was graced by Dr IK Muivah IGP as chief guest, NG Tejkumar Singh president Manipur Amateur Boxing Association, M Chourjit, Associate Prof, Physical Education and Science MU, Ksh Shivakanta Singh IPS, SP Imphal West and Ch Bijoy, Chief Patron, MABA and other dignitaries.
