The Manipur Theological College (MTC) on Wednesday held a community prayer for the forthcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024.  The mass prayer conducted at the EMW Chapel Hall in Dr. GG Crozier Mission Compound, Kangpokpi was moderated by Assistant Professor Kelly Monsang who initiated the gathering under the theme, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” based on Matthew 5:9.

After a brief highlight made of the political prospects and milieu of our country India and especially of the state of Manipur pertaining to the LS Election at hand, the congregation was then led into the heart of prayer by Rev. Dr. Wungnaowung Zimik, Vice Principal of MTC. Reiterating the sobriety of socio-political situation prevailing in our state and the reality of diversity of culture, people groups and affiliations, following points were offered in prayer:

1. For love, respect, understanding and peace to prevail in our state, Manipur.

2. For the polling days for both outer and inner sessions in our state so that votes will be cast without any intimidation, coercion, free and fair election without any violence and problems.

3. For every citizen and leaders in our country and state to uphold and foster honesty, fairness, and empathy in every socio-political engagements and decision makings.
