Manipur: Two Siblings Among Three Kids Drowned in Churachandpur

CHURACHANDPUR: In a tragic incident, three children, including two siblings, drowned in a pit dug at the construction site of BSF-STC at Gangpimual in Churachandpur district, Manipur on Tuesday afternoon. 

The deceased were identified as three-year-old Sangminthang son of Thanggoulien, five-year-old Lunminlal son of Thanggoulien and three-year-old Kamminlen son of Paulalmuon. All hail from Bezar Veng, Gangpimual, Churachandpur district.

Sources said that the three kids are believed to be playing at the waterlogged pit at the fencing post of the BSF  which was recently dug by JCB leading to the unfortunate incident. The children were rushed to Churachandpur District Hospital. However, they were declared brought dead.

Two of the children were siblings who studied at Hidden Valley School, Gangpimual. Sangminthang, a 3-year-old, was a preparatory student, while his elder brother was in Nursery. The other child named Kaimminlen had not yet been admitted to school.

The sources added that the pit where the three kids drowned was about 4 feet deep. Funeral service of the deceased is likely to be held on Wednesday.
