Manipur violence: Two minor non-tribals injured in bomb blast in Moirang

Imphal: Two minors were injured in a suspected IED explosion on Monday at around 7:15 pm under Phougakchao Ikhao Police Station in Bishnupur District.

According to sources, the powerful blast occurred at a bridge in Moirang turel of Kwakta which adjoins Kwakta ward no. 7 and ward no. 9, a Muslim dominated town.

Sources also said the blast, reportedly targeted the cocreate bridge build on Tiddim road that adjoins Kumbi Assembly Constituency and Moirang Assembly Constituency by miscreants.

The non-tribal minors who were injured on the spot are confirmed as an 8-year-old and a 15-year-old, both from Kwakta ward no. 7.

The injured were referred to Imphal for further treatment.
