Ukhrul: The Manipuri diaspora from across the United Kingdom and Europe gathered in a spirited celebration of Ningol Chakouba, an age-old tradition honouring the bond between brothers and sisters, known as Ningols. The event was held in Flaunden Village, Hertfordshire.
The European Manipuri Association (EMA) said event saw Manipuris from diverse ethnic backgrounds joining to celebrate their shared heritage and to reinforce the values of unity and harmony among the people of Manipur.

Hosted by the EMA, the annual celebration featured an array of traditional Manipuri delicacies meticulously prepared for the Ningols, underscoring the essence of love and respect inherent in this unique festival.
As per EMA, the gathering also included cultural performances and patriotic songs, each piece reflecting the rich history and cultural heritage of Manipur. Participants from various ethnic communities contributed to the festivities, bringing to life the vibrant cultural mosaic of the region.

The event also echoed a heartfelt call for harmony, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect among all indigenous ethnic groups from Manipur, added EMA.
Ningol Chakouba in Europe continues to be a proud expression of Manipuri spirit, bridging distances and fostering bonds among Manipuris living abroad.
