COVID-19 active cases in Manipur declined to 537 as 334 patients were reflected as ‘discharged’ in the bulletin of the state Health department on Tuesday.
Manipur saw a single-day rise of 71 Covid-19 infections, which took the state’s total tally of cases to 1,24,588, while with zero death, the fatality toll remained at 1,953.
No fresh death was reported from any part of the state, the bulletin said.
The active cases declined to 537 as a total of 334 including 284 patients were reported as discharge. The actual number of patients discharged on the day was 50 only.
However, due to various reasons, 284 patients were reported as discharged cases only today, the Health department said.
Adding the discharges, the total number of recovered cases in the state rose to 1,22,098. This is 98 percent of the total infections.
The daily positivity rate was recorded at 3.5 per cent. It has been less than five per cent for the last 23 days.
As many as 2,025 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of samples so far tested for COVID-19 in the state to 13,94,336.
Imphal West reported 30 new cases to remain at top among the 16 districts in sharing the maximum number of infections. The infection tally of the district rose to 43,535 with 648 deaths.
The second most affected Imphal East district reported 24 new cases, taking the infection count in this district to 27,624. The COVID-19 has so far claimed 466 lives in this district.
Of the remaining 14 districts, zero new cases were reported in seven districts while five and below the mark in the remaining seven districts.
As many as 20,68,405 Covid vaccine doses have been administered in the state till now. The number included 8,447 people vaccinated on Monday.
Of these total, the number of beneficiaries who got both the doses was 8,05,167 while 12,63,328 had a jab with the first dose.
