Imphal: COVID-19 active cases in Manipur surged to five with two more fresh cases reported on Tuesday.
A 21-year-old girl from Noney district currently staying in Langol Tarung village in Imphal West district and an 81-year-old man from Imphal’s Keishampat were diagnosed with COVID-19 during the RAT test, the latest bulletin of the Health department said.

The two fresh cases were detected upon testing of 73 samples in the last 24 hours and the test positivity rate was 2.7%, the bulletin said.
Adding the fresh cases, the COVID-19 infection tally in the state rose to 1,39,929 while the fatality toll remained unchanged at 2,149 with no death reported in the last 24 hours.

The recovery tally also remained at 1,37,775 with no one discharged on the day.
Manipur has currently five active cases.
After a gap of three months, a fresh case of the COVID-19 was detected in the state on April 1 last. Since then, one case each has been reported every day in the last two days.
