Manipur’s COVID-19 infection cases nearing 29,000-mark

Manipur reported no death related to COVID-19 on Tuesday for the third consecutive day even as 32 fresh positive cases in the past 24 hours pushed the total infections to 28,725.

In the last 24 hours (till 5pm of January 12), there is no report of death. The cumulative number of deaths is 365, said the daily update report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room of the state government on Tuesday.

During the period under report, 32 fresh cases including two CAPF personnel were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases. The fresh cases were detected during testing of 1,359 samples.

The total number of samples tested for the corona virus reached4,91,958, the health department stated in its update report.

A total of 28 patients including two CAPF personnel were discharged on Tuesday after they recovered from the disease taking the total number of recoveries to 27,879.

The number of active cases is 481 and the recovery rate of the state was 97.05%, the release of the control room stated.
