Maram Students’ Union assures Kuki and Meitei students’ safety in their areas

Ukhrul, Jan 17: The Maram Students’ Union (Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang) has assured the safety of Kuki and Meitei students studying in Maram amidst the unrest in the state. This assurance was provided by Rangsung K. Ngiimei, the President of the student body in a press release on Wednesday.

The Maralui Karalimei Swijoikang (Maram Students’ Union) expressed its deep concern over the ongoing conflict between two communities in the state. The student body assured all students that their safety and well-being are its top priorities.

The student body expressed its strong commitment to remaining neutral and impartial, focusing solely on ensuring the safety of all students. It guarantees a safe and secure environment for everyone, regardless of their community affiliation, and provides emotional support and counseling to those affected by the conflict.

Further, the student body promises to facilitate open dialogue between students from both communities to promote understanding and peaceful coexistence.

Appealing to students to stay calm and peaceful, the student body urged everyone to avoid any form of violence or retaliation and to report incidents or concerns to the Students’ Union or authorities immediately. By following all these, the student body hopes to promote peace, understanding, and harmony among different communities.

Further, the Maram student body encouraged all to stay safe while urging them to work together for a brighter future.
