Mary Kom Becomes First Owner of New Toyota Hilux as Deliveries Begin in India

NEW DELHI: Renowned Indian boxer and Olympic medalist M.C. Mary Kom has become the first owner of Toyota’s all-new ninth-generation Hilux in India, with customer deliveries of the lifestyle pickup truck now underway.

According to RushLane, Mary Kom took delivery of the new Hilux at a Toyota dealership in the Delhi-NCR region. The post, published on August 14, said Toyota Kirloskar Motor had commenced deliveries of the ninth-generation Hilux in India.

Toyota launched the latest-generation Hilux in India in July, with prices starting at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The pickup is available in three variants — GX 4×2 AT, GX 4×4 AT and VX 4×4 AT — with prices going up to Rs 36.69 lakh.

The ninth-generation Hilux features a redesigned exterior and an extensively updated cabin, while retaining the 2.8-litre diesel engine producing 204 PS and 500 Nm of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is offered across the range.

Toyota had announced that deliveries would begin from the second week of August following the opening of bookings on July 28.
