Mass screening held in Ukhrul headquarters, detects 21 new positive cases

With the aim to trace and isolate the spiraling Covid positive cases reported in the district, mass screening was conducted at three locations in Ukhrul town on Monday. Out of the 280 people tested 20 new Covid-19 positive cases were detected.

With this update, the total active cases surged to 65 from mass screening with while five Covid patients were discharged.

No Covid related death was reported on Monday. The cumulative death remains at 19.

The mass sreening were held at Ava market Phungreitang, United Bank of India (UBI) Viewland bazar and Jessami junction Viewland, Ukhrul.

Out of the total 109 people who were tests at Ava market, 6 tested positive; United Bank of India (UBI) Viewland out of 71 people 11 tested positive and at Jessami junction Ukhrul out of 100, 2 tested positive, according to DSO Ukhrul.

The cumulative positive stands cases stands at 480, of which 284 are males and 196 are females.

26 new positive cases were reported from Ukhrul district on Sunday.
