Mass Sit-in Protest Scheduled in Imphal for July 7 Against Killing of Six Naga Civilians

UKHRUL: The Naga Peoples’ Union Imphal has organized a mass sit-in protest on July 7 at Ema Market, Khwairamband Bazar. This protest is in response to the killing of six Naga civilians, allegedly by Kuki terrorists, following their abduction on May 13.

In a press release, the union informed the general public, particularly the Nagas residing in Imphal and the Meitei community, that the protest will begin at 10:30 AM.

“The protest is against the barbaric and inhumane killing of our six beloved Naga civilians by Kuki terrorists since their abduction on May 13, 2026, at Leilon Vaiphei Village, as well as the arrest of the innocent Meitei Village Guards (AT),” the press release stated.

The union appeals to both the Meiteis and Nagas to attend the mass protest wearing their traditional attire.
