UKHRUL: In an ongoing effort to promote environmental sustainability, environmental and climate activist Jojo Robertson organized a mass tree-planting drive in Chondan village in Kamjong District today. The event began at 8:30 AM and concluded at 4:00 PM, with participation from villagers, including both youth and elders.
During today’s drive, approximately 600 saplings were planted, which were supplied by the Divisional Forest Officer of Kamjong.

Interacting with the villagers, Robertson Jojo expressed gratitude for their involvement in the tree-planting initiative. He thanked them for their hard work and collective efforts to combat global warming and climate change, emphasizing that tree planting is a critical strategy in this endeavor.
He also assured to carry out programs in the villages where he had conducted his environmental awareness campaign.
“Thanks to Jojo Robertson’s initiative, more trees will grow, more birds will have homes, and many lives will benefit from cleaner air,” stated Chongdan Headman Phungmi Siro, expressing his appreciation on behalf of the villagers.

Notably, Jojo has conducted tree planting and awareness campaigns in various villages within the Kasom Khullen Sub-Division of Kamjong District, reaching around seven villages so far. He has provided free tree saplings to these villages and has actively encouraged tree planting while raising awareness about climate change and its effects. Additionally, he has highlighted the importance of conserving endangered flora and fauna, including medicinal plants.
