As per the information given out by the Assam Rifles, a joint operation with Manipur Police was successfully carried out on the intervening night of 10 and 11 Nov leading to a huge recovery of Brown sugar worth approx Rs 287 Crores.
The said contraband was recovered from a hideout in Kamu village of Thoubal District.
In a separate incident, earlier today, Assam Rifles troops intercepted and seized smuggled illegal foreign goods of approx. the market value of Rs 75 Lakhs from Moreh.
