Ukhrul, March 8: A two-day Sanitation Awareness cum Cleanliness Drive was successfully organised in Mayotang, Ukhrul Headquarters, on March 6 and 7. The initiative was spearheaded by the Mayotang Committee, Mayotang Women Society, and Mayotang Youth, with the primary objective of promoting cleanliness and proper waste management in the locality.

The drive aimed to encourage residents to maintain clean surroundings, dispose of waste materials such as plastic and baby diapers responsibly, and eliminate open defecation, particularly in small streams.

Residents were urged to use proper home toilets and ensure their maintenance. The campaign also stressed on smart waste management practices, including the controlled burning of waste, the use of dustbins, and the utilisation of stream water for drinking purposes.
