Meghalaya Ready for Vote Counting in ADC Elections on Feb 24

Shillong, Feb 21: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the counting of votes for the autonomous district council (ADC) elections on February 24.

Elections to the KHADC and Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) and Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) concluded today.

“The preparation for counting of votes is done,” Commissioner & Secretary in-charge DCA Cyril Diengdoh told reporters.

He informed that training has already been imparted to the counting personnel by the respective Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Returning Officers (ROs).

Stating that the counting centres have been notified, Diengdoh said for KHADC, there will be three counting centres in East Khasi Hills District that include SDO Civil Sohra Office, Pynursla Civil Sub-division and Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Mawlai.

“The rest of the counting centres are the existing counting centres that are the DC office etc. in all the other locations,” he added.
