Meghalaya records 19 new COVID 19 cases

A further 19 new cases of Covid-19 were reported in Meghalaya on Sunday. There were also 27 recoveries and no new fatalities.

Of the new cases, 16 were in East Khasi Hills, two in West Jaintia Hills and one in West Garo Hills.

The two news cases in West Jaintia Hills were both from the Psiar cluster. In East Khasi Hills there were two cases among police personnel and two each in Umpling, Nongrah and Nongmynsong. There was also one each in Jaiaw, Laitumkhrah, Mawlai Mawroh, Mawprem, Nongthymmai and Pohkseh.

The recoveries were divided between East Khasi Hills (26) and West Garo Hills (one).

In all, Meghalaya has had 13,611 Covid-19 cases, of which 155 are active, 13,313 have recovered and 143 have died from the virus. The recovery rate has increased to 97.81 percent. The fatality rate is 1.05 percent.
