Meghalaya records one of the lowest single-day COVID-19 cases

Meghalaya has recorded one of the lowest single-day positive cases when the state registered only 3 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the total caseload to 13,693 so far.

Direction of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases included 2 in East Khasi Hills district and 1 in East Jaintia Hills district.

Dr War informed that the 15 patients who recovered from the viral infection include 14 from East Khasi Hills and 1 from North Garo Hills.

So far, the state has detected a total of 13,693 COVID-19 cases out of which 148 are active cases, 13,401 recovered and 144 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has 91 active cases, West Jaintia Hills 30, East Jaintia Hills 16, North Garo Hills 3, Ri Bhoi 3, West Garo Hills 2, West Khasi Hills 2 and South Garo Hills 1.

On the other hand, of the 3,16,632 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,02,939 were tested negative for the virus even as 66 persons are in institutional quarantine and 93 under home quarantine.

There are 83,162 entrants from outside the state.
