Meghalaya has recorded two new COVID-19 cases and four recoveries on Saturday.

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War said the new cases include 1 each in Ri Bhoi district and West Garo Hills district.

He said the patients who have recovered from the viral infection include 2 from East Jaintia Hills, 1 East Khasi Hills and 1 South West Garo Hills.

So far, the state has detected a total of 13,970 COVID-19 cases out of which 12 are active cases, 13,810 recovered and 148 deaths.

East Khasi Hills has 9 active cases, West Garo Hills 2 and Ri Bhoi 1.

Meanwhile, of the 3,76,332 persons who have tested for COVID-19 in the state as on date, 3,62,362 were tested negative for the virus even as 4 persons are in institutional quarantine and 8 under home quarantine.

There are 94,723 entrants from outside the state.
