‘Meghalaya State Youth Policy’ review meeting held

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Friday held a review meeting with officials of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department on the draft ‘Meghalaya State Youth Policy’ in presence of Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh.

The meeting discussed at length different components of the policy that encompasses development of an holistic atmosphere for youth to engage in different activities in the fields of sports, co-curricular activities, entrepreneurship and skill based learning.

The meeting also discussed different areas to develop critical thinking amongst the youth, leadership and engage them in innovative and welfare activities.

The policy also entails specific programmes for overall well-being of the youth. It was discussed in the meeting that by the first week of November the draft policy will be made available in the public platform to solicit opinions and suggestions.

On receiving feedback, the policy will be given the final shape and then be tabled in the cabinet.
