During the party meeting, the MP informed about the party’s plan to undertake a series of Congress-led nationwide agitation protesting replacement of MGNREGS to Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G), Act, 2025 and further stressed on the need to work in tandem with those leaders of the party and with people from the grassroot levels. He talked at length about the disadvantages of renaming MGNREGA.
Later, he visited the Youth Hostel Relief Centre and oversaw the conditions of the internally displaced persons ( IDPs) sheltered at the relief centre.
Talking about his overall impression about the conditions of the IDPs, he said, “It is very sad that they are living like cattles. Seven/eight families are being made to live in a single room with no bathroom facilities and no proper food. Children can no longer go to schools. It is a very state of affairs.”
The MP continued, “Pradhan Mantri Narendra Modiji had promised that within December, 2025 they will go back to their homes in multiple phases but I think out of 60,000, only few thousands have been able to go return to their homes.

Blaming the government, he alleged that even after having a majority of 55, they can’t even form the government and they have to resort to President’s Rule.
“People of Manipur are very proud people and they can’t have the diktats from Delhi to control their lives here in Manipur. It is very sad and the government has to take care of this,” the MP said, adding, “We demand fresh elections. Election must be held and the assembly has to be dissolved. Then only a democratic government can be formed and solve the issue.”
The MP lamented that the situation has worsened, despite the Governor’s assurance to resolve the crisis by December, 2025.
