UKHRUL: A 47-year-old South Korean national was allegedly stabbed to death by his live-in partner following a heated argument over his drinking habits at their flat in Greater Noida’s Sector 150 in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

The deceased, Duck Hee Yuh, a resident of Cheongju, South Korea, had been working with a logistics company in Greater Noida for nearly 10 years. He lived at ATS Pious Hideaways with his partner, Lujeana Pamai (22), from Bishnupur district in Manipur. The two had been in a live-in relationship for around two years after meeting at a party in Gurgaon.

According to police, Yuh had been drinking continuously since Saturday morning. Between 3 am and 4 am, Pamai allegedly tried to stop him from consuming alcohol and asked him to eat dinner and go to sleep, which led to an argument that escalated into a physical fight. Pamai claimed Yuh became aggressive and assaulted her, after which she picked up a knife from the dining table and stabbed him multiple times in the chest.

Police said Pamai called Yuh’s driver, Mandeep Singh, who arranged for an ambulance and took him to the Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), where he was declared dead on arrival. Pamai reportedly left the hospital after learning of his death.

According to The Week, during investigation police found medical kits at the flat, indicating that Pamai may have attempted to stop the bleeding after the stabbing. She also allegedly knocked on neighbours’ doors seeking help. Neighbours told local media that the couple had been arguing frequently over the past few days.

Quoting the driver, police said the couple often fought over trivial issues, while an officer referred to an incident last month when Yuh allegedly became aggressive and verbally abused his girlfriend TOI reported.

A murder case has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. “We are examining all aspects of the case, including past incidents and the exact sequence of events leading to the murder,” a senior police officer said, adding that Pamai remains in custody for further questioning.
