Mizo National Front Disassociates Itself from Manipur’s MNF-IM

Ukhrul/Aizawl, September 24: The Mizo National Front (MNF) has clarified that it has no association with the newly formed Mizo National Front – Integration Movement (MNF-IM) in Manipur.

In a statement issued in Mizo by the MNF General Headquarters, the party made it clear that it is not linked in any way to MNF-IM, which was announced in Manipur on September 15 and subsequently declared its aim of working towards unity with Mizoram or seeking Union Territory status within the Indian Union.

“We categorically state that there is no connection whatsoever between MNF and MNF-IM in Manipur. We have had no consultation or communication with them regarding their efforts towards unity or any other matter,” the statement signed by B. Lalhmangaihzualla, Secretary, MNF General Headquarters, said.

The party further cautioned MNF members against associating with MNF-IM’s activities, stressing that the Mizo National Front headquartered in Aizawl has no affiliation with the Manipur group.
