Ukhrul, September 17: A new organisation, the Mizo National Front–Integration Movement (MNF-IM), has been formed, according to a press release issued on September 16, 2025, by MNF-IM General Headquarters.

The group stated that its aim is to pursue long-standing demands for the unification of Mizo-inhabited areas with Mizoram or the creation of a separate Union Territory within the Indian Union. It described its members as Mizo people residing in Manipur, hereafter referred to as Northern Mizoram.

The decision, per the release, to form MNF-IM followed a series of consultative meetings with politicians, civil society leaders, intellectuals, and families of ex-MNF freedom fighters. The movement was officially rechristened as the Mizo National Front–Integration Movement (MNF-IM) on September 14, 2025.
