For the award selection, the Town & Country Planning Wing, UD&OA Department made a detailed presentation on October 16, 2025 which included both video and Power Point components.
The presentation highlighted Mizoram’s disciplined traffic, low congestion and Aizawl’s reputation as the “Silent City” for its no-honking culture.
CM of Mizoram, Lalduhoma took on X stating “This achievement reflects the dedicated service of the Aizawl Traffic Police and the cooperation of our law-abiding citizens. Grateful to see our collective efforts recognized at the national level.”
Notably, Aizawl follows a unique system where two-wheelers keep to the right and four-wheelers to the left, a community-evolved practice that ensures smoother movement on the city’s narrow roads.
