CHURACHANDPUR: Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) for Out Patient Department and a new Mortuary cum Autopsy Block, Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Churachandpur Medical College were inaugurated on Wednesday by the Director of CMC Professor (Dr.) Gangmei Angam, in the presence of Deputy Director of CMC, Churachandpur CMO, MS of Churachandpur District Hospital and other officials.
The ABSA, which was set up under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission in 2021 by the National Health Authority, was made operational at Churachandpur District today enabling patients to have hassle-free access and share health records digitally.

The Mortuary cum Autopsy Block, Churachandpur Medical College, which was formerly known as Churachandpur District Hospital Morgue was renovated and upgraded this year, will now have a feature like examiner’s room, paperwork cabin, cold storage room and a dissecting room & a dissecting table for CMC students to study.
The Director of CMC informed that the Mortuary cum Autopsy Block is meant for the people of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts. The Government of Manipur had approved the CMC as a medico-legal centre where postmortem examination can be made, including those cases related to sexual assault, age determination for sportsperson and also where DNA profiling can be done.
He said that the medico-legal centre is now ready for any medico-legal related cases.
