Kachai: The 72nd General Conference Cum Sports and Cultural Meet at Kachai village commenced on Wednesday inaugurated by MK Preshow Shimray, intending candidate 45-Chingai (ST) AC, and former deputy speaker as the Chief guest, while S Mataisang, owner Alpha Christian High School Kachai was the guest of honour.
MK Preshow while appreciating the theme “Engaging the culture with respect” emphasized on the importance of culture. “Respect one another, honor your parents and elders”, he asserted as he praised Kachai lemon which received Geographical Indication (GI) tag and recognition from government.
He further said, since Kachai is a model village now, the villagers should stand united in briging development. Preshow also mentioned that the government is mostly concerned about youths taking part in start-ups and stand-up loans is given to youths. He encouraged the youths to show interest in farming and running businesses.
Kachai Village Authority, Youth, Khararlong, Shanaolong and church members were present in the Meet.

Preshow Shimray was accompanied by BJP Ukhrul District, 45 mandal, Kisan morcha, ST morcha, Youth morcha, social workers, ADC intending candidates.
The first football match was played between Themrin thot and Ramya thot and Themrin thot won the match in penalty shootout.
In men’s volleyball match between Ringachan thot and Thotngachan thot, Ringachan thot won the match.
Kachai Katamnao Long & Youth Club General Conference Cum Sports & Cultural Meet will end on January 10.
