MNBCA releases Holy Bible “Enthiing Ttongdin” in Chandel

Chandel: The releasing program of “Enthiing Ttongdin” the holy bible of the Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) was held on Sunday at Liwa Sarei Baptist Church, Chandel under the initiative of MNBCA staffs. Hundreds of enthusiastic Monsang citizens including leaders, women and children from Monsang Baptist villages in particular thronged the venue to witness one of the most awaited moment in religious field in recent time.

Rev. Alani Shongsir, Exe-Secretary, MNBCA in his welcome and introductory speech extended gratitude to the visiting Bible Society of India (BSI) team and all the Monsang baptist church leaders and representatives from various church organization’s for the love, support and cooperation extended to MNBCA. Releasing of Monsang Holy Bible “Enthiing Ttongdin” is important from spiritual and literature perspective at a time when Monsang spiritual and literature are in a developing stage, he noted. Let us thank the Lord for all the blessing we have received as community, he concluded.

Rev. Th. Rockson, translator of the Monsang bible share some of the challenges and difficulties he faced since he was appointed translator of OT (Old Testament) by MNBCA in early 2010. It took more than 10 years to complete the translation of Monsang OT (Old Testament) including NT (New Testament Revision). The new testament was released already in 2009. By the grace of God, family support, checking committee support, MNBCA churches, BSI, the release of Monsang Holy Bible “Enthing Ttongdin” (OT & NT) is possible, he emphasized. He admitted that errors and mistakes are bound to happen and are subject to correction and edition in future, he remarked.

Upa W. Phamward, member checking committee and Upa Kh. Mobershing, President, MNBCA also shared some of the challenges the committee faced during the checking process during the program. But with prayer support the task is finally accomplished and thankful to God.

Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary, Bible Society of India (BSI), Dimapur attended the program as blessing cum releasing minister of the ceremony. He was accompanied by Joyson K. Thangal, Asst. Marketing Officer, BSI. Joyson K. Thangal in his short speech highlighted that “It’s a historic day for the Monsang community”. “The bible translation work is believed to equip the community better with the words of God in our own mother tongue”.

The blessing and releasing minister Yiepetso encouraged the large gathering that the word of God is truth with reference from the bible. He urged the members to read the word of God and be blessed much. The Bible Society of India (BSI) will be happy enough to assist any posible help in future.

The program moderated by Ts. Jennifer, Women Secretary, MNBCA concluded successfully with gift and beautiful songs presented by Shongsir Akip S, Liwachangning Women Fellowship, Liwa Sarei Baptist Church. K. Bosom, Pastor MBFI, Ng. Bengamshing, Asst Pastor CBC and Rev. K. Kumar, Asst Pastor JBC led the opening, offertory and closing prayer of the program. Monsang traditional steamed rice, local pork meat and tea were served as a refreshment break with a prayer by G. Khartu, Pastor Sarei Baptist Church.
