KANGPOKPI: A mobile medical unit ambulance was launched at Saikul Block Ground on Thursday, with the initiative aimed at taking essential healthcare services closer to people in remote and underserved areas.
The ambulance, provided by the Department of Health Services, Government of Manipur, was formally inaugurated by Kimneo Hangshing, MLA, 46-Saikul Assembly Constituency, through a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The programme began at 11 am and included an opening prayer by Pastor Chungmang Khongsai of CBC Saikul, followed by a dedication prayer led by Pastor Seiboi Touthang of STCC Saikul.

Thangkam Lupheng, president, Kuki Inpi Saikul, and Dr Chochon Baite, medical officer in-charge, CHC Saikul, addressed the gathering during the programme.
The event concluded with a prayer by Pastor Hegin Misao of Thangkanphai B/C.
The mobile medical unit is expected to facilitate access to basic medical services for communities facing difficulties in reaching healthcare facilities, particularly those in remote areas.
Appreciation was also expressed to chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh for his support towards strengthening healthcare services in Saikul.
