MPCC Observes 4th Memorial Day of Lt. Rishang Keishing

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) members today held the 4th Memorial Day of former Chief Minister of Manipur and former Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Late Rishang Keishing as he was fondly remembered.

The Memorial Day was held at Congress Bhawan in Imphal.

MPCC President N. Loken, former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, LCP leader, All India Congress Committee (AICC) CWC Member, Gaikhangam led the people in paying floral tributes to the Late Rishang Keishing’s grave in Mantripukhri.

In remembrance of the dear leader, as part of the memorial event, Congress MLAs and party members also held the 4th memorial lectures.

Speaking at the event, Okram Ibobi recalled that the late Rishang Keishing was one amongst the first MPs elected after India’s Independence. The former Chief Minister of Manipur eulogised his contributions in developing the state and the country.

Remembering the eminent Congress leader, Okram Ibobi said, “people of Manipur should follow Rishang Keishing’s ideologies for sustaining unity and integrity of Manipur.”
