Mr International 2022: Manipur youth receives rousing welcome at Imphal airport

Imphal: A 20-year-old youth from Manipur, Lukanand Kshetrimayum, received a rousing home-coming reception at the Imphal airport on Wednesday morning. Lukanand who represented India at Mister International 2022 pageant in the Philippines took home the coveted first runner-up title.

Soon after he arrived, Lukanand was welcomed by folks from Manipuri film fraternity under Maniwood Club Manipur, gym mates, family members and well-wishers and celebrated his success at the international pageantry event.

Expressing his gratitude to the people for the warm reception, Lukanand said that for him, winning and losing is a part of life and celebrating someone’s success is also a victory.

“For me, all the participants, including myself who competed at the pageant are the winners because we were there to make this world more united, peaceful and beautiful and we stand for and with the youth,“ said Lukanand.

Altogether, there were 35 contestants from across the globe participated in the event.

A resident of Moirangkhom Bokulmakhong in Imphal West, Lukanand is the youngest son of Kshetrimayum Bimal Singh and Elangbam Sujata. A model by profession, Lukanand is also a filmmaker, musician and YouTuber.

Now, the world pageantry title that comes along with new roles and responsibilities, Lukanand wants to empower more people not just in the state and the country but globally.
