Naga Doctors’ Forum clarifies news item; Health camp not in collaboration with AR

Imphal: All Naga Doctors’ Forum, Manipur issued a press statement today to clarify the news item published in The Sangai Express on November 13, 2022 with the by-line credited as “Our Correspondent,” The People’s Chronicle and telecasted in ISTVTangkhul news at 6 pm of November 13, 2022.

“To put the facts straight, the health camp was organised by All Naga Doctors’ Forum, Manipur at Maram Khullen, Senapati district on November 13, 2022 after much preparation and mobilization with the local support extended by the Chief Medical Officer of Senapati district and not as appeared in the said news items,” the statement said.

The forum hereby clarified that it did not collaborate with Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles in conducting the health camp at Maram Khullen on the said day. “The team from Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector Assam Rifles visited the medical camp without any invitation from the forum,” the statement of the Naga doctors’ forum also said.

“It is also necessary to highlight that there was no medical team from Shija Hospital on the health camp as it is otherwise mentioned in various news items,” the forum added.

All Naga Doctors’ Forum, Manipur then said it strongly condemned “such wrong and misleading news” appearing in the leading newspapers and local television channel of the state. Therefore, the forum said that, for the sake of truth and for public consumption, “this press release is being issued to give justice for the wrong done to the forum.”
