Naga People’s Front expresses concern on COVID-19 situation in Nagaland

Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed its “great” concern over the deteriorating and increasing rate of Covid-19 positive cases and the death in Nagaland.

NPF said it fully assured to give its fullest cooperation and support to the government in combating the Covid-19 and called upon the government to be mentally, physically and be well equipped to fight against the pandemic from our land.

The party is of the view that the government should make available the Covid-19 vaccine to all the citizens above the age of 18 and sensitize the importance of the vaccine to the people as many people are still reluctant to take the vaccine.

It is also of the opinion that all Covid-19 related issues be made free of cost, like testing, medicine and treatment. It further said that strict directives should be given to the village, wards and colonies that the contact tracing whose result is yet to be given should totally isolate themselves from the public.

It then said, “As the COVID-19 positivity rate is increasing each day, more hospital beds and medical equipment should be immediately arranged particularly in Dimapur and Kohima and even for other districts as the worst time is likely to hit the state if the present trend continues”. NPF also said that the government should try to utilize all the retired doctors voluntarily.
