Naga Student Union vehemently Condemns Assault on Naga Woman in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Naga Students’ Union Gujarat has issued a strong condemnation in response to a recent incident of physical assault against a Naga woman from Northeast India, expressing deep concern and outrage. NSU Gujarat said the assault occurred at Galaxy Spa, located on Sindhu Bhavan Marg in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and allegedly involved the spa’s owner, Mohsin.

The student Union in Ahmedabad while vehemently condemning the violent act that unfolded within the confines of the Galaxy Spa, said the incident has sent shockwaves through the Naga community and the wider society, highlighting the pressing need for safety and the preservation of a peaceful environment.

Stating that the Naga community has been an integral and harmonious part of Gujarat’s diverse cultural landscape for many years, cherishing the principles of unity in diversity and peaceful coexistence, NSU said that such incidents not only cast a shadow on the state’s reputation but also disrupt the harmonious atmosphere cultivated by the Naga community over time. The union demanded immediate and decisive action against those responsible for the reprehensible act calling for comprehensive and impartial investigation to ensure that justice is served, emphasizing the imperative of not tolerating such incidents and holding the perpetrators accountable.

In an appeal to the public, the Union requested responsible behavior on social media platforms, urging citizens to refrain from disseminating unverified information about the incident. They stressed the importance of maintaining a peaceful and harmonious environment during the ongoing investigation.

Speaking to NSU Gujarat president Matsungmeren Pongen, he said the assault on the Naga woman occurred on September 25. Matsungmeren also informed this correspondent that a FIR was filed on Wednesday 11 pm.
