Naga Students’ Union Punjab hosts 15th Crystal Jubilee cum Nagas’ Meet in Phagwara

Ukhrul, March 5: The Naga Students’ Union Punjab (NSUP) successfully organized the 15th Crystal Jubilee cum Nagas’ Meet Punjab 2025 on March 1st at the Maharaja Palace, Phagwara. Held under the theme “Celebrating Milestones, Uniting Tradition and Vision,” the event brought together distinguished guests, Naga students, and other esteemed individuals to celebrate the progress and achievements of the Naga student community in Punjab while emphasizing the importance of blending tradition with a forward-looking vision.

A press statement of NSUP said the event was graced by several eminent dignitaries, including Chief Guest S. Supongmeren Jamir, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha; Guest of Honour Er. Temsuzulu, Deputy General Manager of Marketing Division at Indian Oil Corporation Limited; and Invited Speaker Mrs. Moatenla IRS, Additional Director of Income Tax.

Among the esteemed guests were Mr. Wennyei Konyak NCS, RC, Nagaland House, and Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal IAS, DC Jalandhar, New Delhi, who contributed to the celebration with their presence. Other distinguished attendees included Col. Viney Rana, Commanding Officer 1 Naga (Drass); Lt. Col. Atong Konyak AAG, 90 Inf Bde; Major Duzo Kiso, Assistant Director Army Postal Service, HQ 11 Corps; Ms. Wonchibeni S. Ngullie, Nodal Officer Nagaland State Lottery Camp Punjab; Ms. Wangshitula Ozukum, Geologist at GSI; and Dr. Moloti Kichu, Neurologist at CMC, all of whom hold prominent roles in their respective fields.

As per the NSUP, the gathering also witnessed the participation of various Naga student organizations, including the President of the Naga Students’ Federation, Eastern Nagas Students’ Federation, All Naga Students’ Association Manipur, All Nagaland College Students’ Union, Dimapur, and Naga Students’ Union. Other participating student groups included North East Students’ Organisation Jalandhar, Former Naga Students Union Punjab Office Bearers, and Naga Students’ Union representatives from different states, such as Arunachal Students’ Club Punjab, Assam Student Union Jalandhar, Manipur Students’ Union Phagwara, Meghalaya Students’ Union Jalandhar, Jalandhar Mizo Zirlai Pawl, Sikkimese Gorkha Students’ Union Jalandhar, Tripura Students’ Association Jalandhar, Christian Fellowship Jalandhar, and Naga Christian Fellowship Chandigarh. Their presence underscored the strong sense of solidarity and unity among the Naga student community across different regions.

Cultural performances and artistic showcases enriched the event, featuring traditional Naga attires and musical performances by renowned guest artists Moko Koza and Aseno Metha. Their contributions highlighted the vibrant cultural heritage of the Naga people, adding a lively and engaging element to the celebrations.

The 15th Crystal Jubilee cum Nagas’ Meet Punjab served as both a celebration of the Naga student community’s milestones and a reminder of the importance of staying connected to one’s roots while embracing a vision for the future. The gathering emphasized unity, tradition, and progress as guiding principles for the Naga community in Punjab and beyond.

With a strong sense of community, pride, and determination, the event marked another significant milestone in the history of Naga students in Punjab, leaving a lasting impact on all who attended.
