Naga Tribes Unite for Political Cooperation and Immediate Action on January 14 Treatise

Dimapur, Feb 18: Representatives of various Naga tribes have come together to issue a collective statement, stressing the urgent need for all Naga Political Groups to unite and cooperate in the interest of the Naga people. This call for solidarity comes in light of the positive steps taken through the Treatise signed on January 14, 2025.

According to the statement, the representatives expressed their appreciation for the constructive efforts outlined in the January 14 Treatise, which they believe marks a significant breakthrough for Naga unity.

The declaration emphasizes three key points:

  1. Naga Political Groups must heed the voice of the people, with an unwavering commitment to ensuring Naga unity in the spirit of oneness. According to the statement, every effort must be made to foster collaboration and understanding among the Naga people, without exception.
  2. To achieve true Naga unity and reconciliation, the January 14 Treatise must be implemented immediately. The statement urged all Naga Political Groups and Naga communities to join the Council of Naga Cooperation and Relationship. The public, it was stressed, will hold accountable any political group or civil society organization that fails to comply with this directive.
  3. The declaration further highlighted the need to strengthen Naga solidarity, fostering a spirit of unity that transcends borders and works towards the fulfilment of the Naga people’s aspirations.
