Ukhrul, Mar 3: Addressing the sixth session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly today, La Ganesan, Governor of Nagaland, said that the house had collectively taken steps to ensure the peaceful resolution of the Naga political issue.
The Nagaland Legislative Assembly session began today.
“As assured on the floor of the house by the Chief Minister, the government held a consultative meeting with the apex and influential tribal bodies and civil society organisations to deliberate on the Naga political issue on September 12, 2024”, the Governor recalled. He then thanked the members of the assembly for their “whole-hearted cooperation in this important matter”.

Further, on November 21, 2024, the Chief Minister, accompanied by his cabinet colleagues, met the Union Home Minister and apprised him of the people’s desire for an early solution to the Naga political issue, the Governor also mentioned in his address.
He also said the government had also submitted their comments on the third draft of the Memorandum of Settlement in respect of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority to the Ministry of Home Affairs on November 6, 2024. Two rounds of discussions have already been held, one in New Delhi and the other in Chumoukedima, he said. He also added that substantial progress had been made and the government was hopeful that any remaining concerns of the ENPO would be addressed.
The Governor, in his address, also highlighted the achievements of the government during the ongoing financial year and also mentioned the future programs of the government.
