The Eastern Naga people is saddened and disheartened after the recent peace and reconciliation mission initiated by Naga Students’ Organization, Naga Culture, Tradition and Literature Committee Center, Naga Baptist Convention, Eastern Naga Students’ Association and particularly the Konyak Union Myanmar from 24th April to 30th May 2023 had failed to bear its fruit.

The NSO and ENSA had constrain itself from publishing any press release until date as the house considered the present internal crisis in the NSCN/GPRN K a family issue and have made every possible means to resolve the internal mess peacefully which had unfortunately failed however the Naga people will continue to strive for peace and normalcy in the region.

The Naga people had enough of this factional war, killing among brothers rather than uniting to drive out our common enemy, therefore we as a whole should not give another space for war within ourselves.

After failing to address the Naga people’s humble appeal the first infighting took place on 5th June between Chuisu and Nyanching village at around 2:30 pm which took away innocent lives of the Naga army, the Naga people have every right to question the NSCN/GPRN, who will pay the price of this war and the life’s of the innocent Naga army who laid down their life in vain for the wrong cause. The Naga people cannot consider any life that might have lost in today’s internal crisis as a sacrifice made for the Naga National cause.

While the Naga people have requested both the parties of the CHQ and GHQ to restrain oneself and avoid getting too close, another exchange of firing took place in the wee hours on 13th June at Chen Loiye village between 5 am and 6 am.

The NSO and ENSA in the strongest form condemned the firing in the village premises which had insisted the innocent villagers flee their homes for none of their faults. We would like to question all the Naga armies on the ground. Do we the innocent Naga public deserve such sufferings? Naga public wants to question the NSCN/GPRN K as you have failed us on what ground do you stand to defend the Naga National cause and our freedom struggle. We cannot trust any government that lay astray from the National principles to side away with personal egos and personal interest and thus disregarding the people’s aspiration which cannot be accepted in today’s generation.

While the Naga people literacy rate is the lowest in the country, due to the present crisis our educational institution mainly in the Konyak areas have been disturbed and the students in the villages are sitting hopelessly while the rest of the Naga areas are in full swing attending school. Does the student community deserve this sufferings? We have too many questions to raise; no government shall fool the people anymore.
