New Churachandpur SP, Gaurav Dogra Engages Press, Calls for Public Support

Churachandpur, October 24: The new SP-CCP, Gaurav Dogra IPS, today had an interaction with the Press & Media fraternity of Churachandpur District at his office chamber in the Mini-Secretariat Building, following his joining on 14 October 2025.

During the interaction, the new SP highlighted his aspiration to serve the people of the district to the best of his ability. While acknowledging the huge challenges ahead, he requested the Press & Media to assist the district Police in whatever way they could. Appreciating the various concerns of the Press & Media, especially regarding traffic issues in the town, he assured them that the police would make extra efforts to ensure smooth flow of traffic. He further appealed to the people of the district to trust and support the police as they strive to serve the public during these difficult and challenging times.

He also thanked the Press & Media fraternity for the cooperation they have consistently rendered to the district Police.

Meanwhile, acting on an intelligence report, an operation was launched by 36 Assam Rifles on 24 October 2025 in the general area of Old Gelmoul, Churachandpur, where they apprehended one suspected UKNA cadre. The apprehended individual has been identified as Haominthang Haokip, 18 years old, son of Lunkhohao Haokip, resident of Old Gelmoul, Churachandpur, Manipur.

Recovered items include:
1. One pistol with two live rounds
2. Aadhaar card
3. One POCO mobile phone

Preliminary interrogation revealed that he was involved in several extortion demands and other anti-social activities. The Churachandpur Police have registered a case under FIR No.133(10)/2025 CCP-PS u/s 310(6)/308(2)/3(5) BNS & 25(1C) Arms Act for further investigation.
