Night Curfew imposed In Ukhrul District Till August 7 from 6 pm to 5 am

District magistrate Ukhrul imposed night curfew effective today evening till 7 August in whole of Ukhrul district.

Night curfew will start from 6 pm till 5 am everyday and will remain inforced till 7 August. “Any person found violating the prohibitory order are liable to be punished under Section 188 of IPC,” the order stated.

The order issued by Joseph Pauline Kamsom, IAS, District Magistrate Ukhrul on Thursday said the measure is necessitated to prevent and break the chain of transmission of widely prevalent delta variant of COVID-19 in the district.

Unavoidable customary and religious rituals can be performed in open sheds by restricting the number of invitees to only 20, the order mentioned.

The order stated that opening of local vegetable vendors, grocery shops, shop selling fish, poultry and poultry products, stationary, mobile and shop/establishments dealing with inputs like fertilizer,seeds, pesticides, mechanical tools etc., and NHIDCL, NBD project of PHED, PMGSY, and NREGA activities will be allowed to open from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday until further orders.

It then said that further opening will depend on the Covid scenario and the progress of the vaccination.

Dedicated teams of police department and health department shall strictly monitor the containment zones.

More containment Zone shall be strictly monitored by dedicated police department teams and health departments team.

Fresh cases of COVID-19 infections shall be isolated as soon as possible and brought to Covid care centres and the Health department shall arrange a mobile medical team for regular health checks.

Offices of the state government and Centre government” can be opened with physical attendance of Group A officers and 15 per cent of the remaining staff by taking “adequate precaution and strictly following Covid appropriate behaviour.”

It stated that all employees working in Information and Public Relations, Power, Fire Service, Public Health and Engineering department, Consumer Affairs, Foods and Public Distribution, Health, Forest, Environment and Climate Change and Treasuries and Police departments and district administration are to function normally.

Banking services with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10.00 am to 2.30 pm for urgent government and non-government transactions only. “ATM services including refilling of cash in ATMs are also allowed,” it added.

Postal services will be allowed with limited staff on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am to 2.30 pm including delivery of medicines, medical equipment and posts.

Opening of health care facilities, animal healthcare, hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and movement of healthcare workers are also permitted, the Order added.

Opening of all pharmacies and opticians including those selling veterinary medicines.

All horticultural and agricultural activities.

Opening of Rice Mills and Bakeries subject to taking adequate precaution and strictly following Covid Appropriate Behaviour.

Opening of Oil pumps and LPG outlets and movement of staff of IOCL will continue to be permitted.

The Order has also directed Deputy Commissioners to issue necessary orders and Superintendents of Police to take necessary action to implement the orders strictly.
