The number of COVID-19 active cases in Manipur rose to 60 on Saturday as nine fresh cases of the disease were recorded against six recoveries. The number of active cases was 57 on the previous day (Friday).
The daily update report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room of the state government said that nine persons from the general population were confirmed as new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
The nine fresh cases were reported as positive for the coronavirus out of 936 samples tested in the past 24 hours. The number of total samples tested in the state stood at 5,78,877 on Saturday.
A reliable source said that among the nine new cases, two were commuters of flights that landed at Imphal airport.
Of the nine fresh positive cases, four were from Imphal West, three from Imphal East and one each from Kakching and Ukhrul, the control room stated.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the state is 29,415 (including 3,446 CAPF) while the number of recovered cases is 28,981 (including 3,433).
The 60 active cases included nine CAPF personnel. The recovery rate of the state is 98.52%.
Meanwhile, with 32 people vaccinated on Saturday, the total of people who received the vaccine against COVID-19 in the state reached 86,740. Among them, 31,625 were healthcare workers.
