KOHIMA: The Northeast Advenduro Nagaland Edition-X 2026, one of the region’s premier motorcycle endurance events, was officially flagged off on Monday morning from PR Hill Junction, Kohima, marking the commencement of a high-intensity adventure ride across Nagaland.

The event brings together seasoned adventure motorcyclists from across the Northeast and other parts of the country to undertake a challenging journey spanning approximately 1,100 to 1,500 kilometres through rugged terrain, remote villages, and interior districts of the state. Riders will navigate GPS-based routes without predefined tracks, testing their endurance, navigation skills, and teamwork.

The flag-off programme began with an invocation by Zajamo Odyuo, Associate Pastor, City Church, Kohima, followed by a welcome address by Peter Rutsa, Convenor, Northeast Advenduro Edition-X. A detailed briefing on the Advenduro format was delivered by Sunil Karnany.

The event was formally flagged off by Vilika Peseyie, Assistant Director, Department of Tourism, Government of Nagaland. Highlighting the significance of the Northeast Advenduro Nagaland Edition-X 2026, Peseyie said the motorcycle rally, covering several districts of Nagaland, reflects the spirit of adventure while showcasing the state’s immense tourism potential. She stated that the rally is more than just an endurance ride and serves as a powerful platform to promote local tourism.

Emphasising the importance of community participation, she said the promotion of homestays at every stop along the route will help ensure that tourism benefits reach local communities directly, while also encouraging visitors to explore destinations beyond conventional tourism circuits.

She added that the initiative is expected to strengthen community-based tourism by empowering local youth, guides, artisans, and small entrepreneurs, and position Nagaland as a promising hub for adventure and experiential tourism.

Commending the organisers for the visionary initiative, Peseyie expressed confidence that the event would leave a lasting impact on tourism development in the state, while also promoting safe and responsible travel.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Burakum Ao, President, Nagaland Adventure Club.

Organisers stated that the event aims to promote adventure tourism, responsible riding, and road safety awareness, while spreading the social message, “Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.”

In addition to the endurance ride, the event features individual and team categories, along with photography and videography contests, with a total prize pool of ₹60,000.

The Northeast Advenduro Nagaland Edition-X 2026 is expected to showcase Nagaland’s diverse landscapes and reinforce the state’s growing reputation as a hub for adventure sports and tourism in the Northeast.
