NPF in solidarity with Myanmarese for democracy

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has expressed its deep concern over the unrest situation taking place in Myanmar ever since the “Military Junta took over the Government by overwhelming the democratically elected Government”.

The NPF, in a statement on Monday, said it was “unfortunate” that so many innocent people had lost their lives in course of the protest against the Military rule.

“The NPF as a political party believes in democratic values either in the form of expression of opinion or peaceful protest against the tyrannical governance,” the statement also said. It added that the party strongly felt that in any civilized world, the freedom of expression and peaceful protest should not be encountered with brute force.

Meanwhile, the NPF extended its solidarity with the Nagas living in Myanmar and assured its fullest support in their struggle for democracy and just peace.

The party also expressed hope that good sense would prevail amongst the Military Junta leadership and peaceful atmosphere would reign without losing any more innocent life.
